1) Disassemble the pencil by unscrewing the tip. Remove the pencil mechanism.
2) Insert the Sleeve Shaft, End “B” into the pencil body from the clip end towards the tip, making contact with the sleeve (Diagram 1). Make sure you insert the end of the shaft with the two flats (End “B”).

3) Hold the barrel tightly in your fist while tapping on the end of the shaft with a hammer. Sharp forceful taps will dislodge the sleeve.
4) Continue until the sleeve is pushed free from the barrel. Be careful not to lose the sleeve if it flies off the pen barrel.

5) Screw the M6x1 Tap “D” into the cap, using a wrench. Turn clockwise keeping the tap in a straight line with the barrel (Diagram 2). You only need to thread the tap half-way in, to cut a thread inside the cap. Then back off the tap.

6) Screw in the Cap Screw “C” snugly into the cap that you just threaded (Diagram 3). Insert the sleeve shaft (use End “B” as in step 2 above) into the opposite end until it makes contact with the bottom of the cap screw. Hold this barrel tightly in your fist while tapping on the end of the shaft with a hammer. Sharp forceful taps will dislodge the cap and clip.

7) Insert Shaft “C” into the front tube until it contacts the Band (Diagram 4). Hold the barrel tightly in your fist while tapping on the end of the shaft with a hammer. Sharp forceful taps will dislodge the band and the rear brass tube from the front tube.

8) Insert Shaft “C” into the rear tube until it contacts the Band (Diagram 5). Hold the barrel tightly in your fist while tapping on the end of the shaft with a hammer. Sharp forceful taps will dislodge the band from the rear brass tube.
